Tethered Dance by Shimmering-Sword Tethered Dance by Shimmering-Sword
Heres something I worked on for a few nights spread out over a few weeks, glad to get it done. I wanted to show off one of the more uniquely techniqued Elementals I've thought up.

This Elemental has developed an interesting way of utilizing her shields. Instead of the most common wall and linear motion force attacks, she uses rotational motion to build up kinetic energy in what appear to be invisibly tethered shield blades.
Standing with a varying number of these cycling points surrounding the suit, which can have their attributes adjusted in many aspects, all generator power can be concentrated into extremely precise and potent attacks of defenses. While a great offensive tool, having the same requirement of precision for defense leaves the user vulnerable, so elevated care in battlefield awareness is a must.
How these forces at play operate still sits in a theoretical state for the scientists and technicians that work with the Elementals, continuing to show how little is known about the true potential and nature of the material that runs shield generators.

I love her posture, so relaxed and so cool. Kinda moving under water or bending lightning by the that calm technique of İroh. Great work love it and love you for drawing those epic things.

That form of helmet. It's kinda familiar. Is it from anime, literature or video game?

Then it would have to have the same shield tech as her, meaning a tough fight ahead.

Haha yeah it's pretty much that kind of technique, but the blades can run out to very long ranges. Defends with them the same way too, spinning them semi-close to her body and intercepting anything that might hit.

that's a great idea. She usese the energy fields in the oppersite way, makin them small and sharp to form invisible blades. i like the idea she is fighting with her fingers xD that SURE looks great in motion. "I point on YOU!" - "oh NOoo...."
i sure like all that eneryfield stuff, your sci fi elementalists are some more kreative way to think on .... these things.

Yeah, I want to make them original in some way from the rest of the similar pack. There is plenty of magic and such that does the same in other stories, but mine use all technology.

i also try to combinine fantasy magic and sci-fi technologies by myself.
weapons like blades and axes f.e. can be "Chanted" by some swinging anti-materie cristals or something.
i still fix that things out.

The helmet reminds me of Briareos from Appleseed...and of my repeatedly failed attempts at finding refs for a helmet that would fit a beast-type. Looks like I've found the necessary ref with ten times the awesome.

All you have to do it take a regular helmet and tweak the forms minimally to resemble animal features. On mine it's the sensor eyes, and serrating the visor to look like a toothed jaw.

Do you think it would be possible to make this (an elemental) 3D? i've seen you do some pretty impressive things in 3D.

Back when I was in school taking largely 3D classes I intended to do that, but not long out of school I decided to largely drop 3D to concentrate on my painting (get good fast at one instead of ok at both). I still have the skills to model them (probably not texture/rig/animate) but again that's time I choose to spend painting instead.
I'm very open to others taking a crack at them, though every attempt so far has stalled and failed.

That's no surprise that no one can make it 3D successfully, this thing (and all the elementals are) is amazing.

Impressive. While not physically connected at all we still easily understand that the finger tips and the unseen cutting force are connected. Very well done indeed
