Neural Mech by Shimmering-Sword Neural Mech by Shimmering-Sword
Started as a quick mecha sketch, then I played with it while my oc partners finished off their work.

Its a neural bio mech, controlled via connections in the spine and top of the neck, so surgery is required to pilot one of these technological beasts.
These mechs are expensive and their applications are very specific, standard 'driven' mechs remain the more commonplace king of the pre-shielded battlefield.

This is probably one of the more realistic powered armor droawings I have seen. The head/helmet of the mech is closer to what you would actually see because you would only want a small and sturdy "viewer" camera instead of a big, fragile visor.

You need surgery to get in...do you just like plug in or what?

If the latter, how do you dismount ^o.o^?

Yea you hop into the cockpit, strap in tight and plug in. I haven't decided how they resume control of their own bodies, but there would be many simple enough ways to do it.

Very nice I like it. From the sound of the description sounds like this a hold over from a earlier era of Mechs?

The neural technology isn't so new, so somewhat yea. It's the new shielding technology that makes these fragile machines so effective.
My end point was that even with shields making them more desirable, you're going to spend more time worrying about the more numerous conventional mechs.

Ah, well the bio part means the mechs locomotion is handled ever more by synthetic muscle materials, to achieve more articulation and better mimic the pilots intended movements. Piloting a mech through spinal tap with only conventional servos would be of little performance gain.
Thanks for stopping by man.
