Been slowly churning this out between Contact work, another battlemech commissioned by ~StridersStrikersTeam

A mercenary Dire Wolf / Daishi Assault Mech. It carries a Gauss Rifle, 3 Large Pulse Lasers, 2 Streak SRM6 Launchers, and an anti missile system.

I tried to create a gauss firing effect without using that silly helix effect, not a lot of reference out there other than fireballs from launch friction :D

Theres always a visual distortion in the background caused by air density and thermal effects like you see with camp fires and jet exhaust. Since railguns heat the air up through said launch friction, why not give it a shot sometime? :) [link]

Very nice.. I like the striped paintjob.
Even if I can't wrap my head around mercs using an assault Clan mech.
I've played Merc in my time and repair and maintenance was always a pain in the ... backside.
I don't even won't to think about the costs to keep this big daddy up and running.

Dire Wolf = my absolute favorite 'mech chassis. Dust storm, metal effects, all fantastic.

A few notes on perspective errors I noticed:
-The right leg is too skinny overall, and the shin guard's patterning makes it look like it's facing towards the camera (not angled properly). The foot also appears to be placed too far to the right (from the viewer's perspective).
-The left arm's black torso-connector joint is visible, when it probably wouldn't be given the torso's rotation. Perhaps like the other arm, the

I really like the upper torso overall, though (in particular the AMS and its placement), and the joint designs on the legs are pretty sensical overall.
Going through your gallery shows a significant improvement over time. Keep up the good work!

Using 3D helps fix all those minor perspective issues.
I like to think I can freehand everything better than many official BT artists though :D

Haha. Well, it certainly is less severe than, say, the Atlas's jimmy-leg in the original art. [link]

thats nice, but I remember the right arm (from cockpit POV) was the same as the left and a cannon on the bottom

There are a lot of variants with different weapons.

Well it is a clan mech, every mech in battletech has multiple loadouts, then there are full custom loadouts that anyone can make.
