Massive Aftermath by Shimmering-Sword Massive Aftermath by Shimmering-Sword
Finally finished. Had a fun painting session last night getting this done, thanks to everyone who watched.

An Elemental crouches near it's final kill of the battle.
The squad of aerial mechs deployed from orbit, equipped to combat an Elemental that was ravaging ground forces. Going in on slim intel, they ran into a terror, a mass specialist.
Mass specialists are often Eles in the last stages of achieving Tier3 shielding, and becoming a master. Already tide turning lone wolves, they are incredibly hard to kill.
Nimbly evading or deflecting all incoming rounds with ease, the Elemental could enhance it's rifles fire to pierce armor, form projectiles from material in the ground, and tear apart the few that made the mistake of coming too close.
Flawless precision use of cold forcive shields

Tier 3? Kind of like the Forerunner scale?

Isn't that scale nothing special? Just higher is better?
There are fundamental changes to the shields between Elemental tiers.

Your Ranger art is the definition of both Beautiful and Outstanding.Your designs are inspired and the scenes stunning. i would think of something else to say, but frankly, words alone cannot define your master piece that is your Ranger art. Your work is an inspiration to me. Thank you.

In GCSE (British education qualifications for ages 16)English I got an A on my original writing course work. That may explain it.
This wouldn't be DA, however, if i didn't offer up some variant of "Please look at my stuff!". I would be interested in hearing what someone with your skills might think of my own 'work', if you can call it that. So... yeah. Continue to amaze.

Not bad for pencil work, though pencil lines shaded in equally heavy hatching kind of flattens it out. Fully shaded pencil work works better when it's more realistic, but that's time consuming and at that point, why not paint.
Watch your proportions, you tend to draw short arms (or long torsos) with small hands. At least you don't seem to be stuck in any anime style issues, so that's something I don't need to address :D
Again not bad. If you're serious about art, step up your game, practice and study a lot, and consider picking up some new media like inks or going digital.

Thank you. please understand that i did not take art at GCSE, because there were too many people in the class, so i have virtually no skill at painting, although it is something that i would like to do. thank you for the advice.

you need to draw a graphic novel. i dont normally read anything with pictures (as i go through them in about 1 minute) but i would definatly buy this.

It would be nice, but those are so much work, and I'm personally not a fan of redrawing stuff over and over :D
For now I'm slowly developing the story, and we'll see where it goes.

if not a graphic novel try writing out a chapter story with them. it'll get your foot in the door and (i feel) it would add to them. just a suggestion but i hope you try it.

With so many scifi artists it's common for armor designs to look similar even without us referencing each other. This is for my own project.

I know! I practice every day. Its not just practice to get there either, it's the will to do so. You can draw something every day and still go nowhere. Like getting stuck in the same thing over and over again. Ya know? So I try different mediums and stuff so I can have a deeper understanding of technique so I can better do my work.

Getting stuck at a level of skill can be similar to an art block, but is also often that you don't know "how to learn".
Might I make some suggestions in case you aren't doing so already:
Use references, preferably real life/photos, this ensures you aren't regurgitating others mistakes or artist/stylistic choices. I keep several photos open on my 2nd screen while working, often environments or material aids (painting armor, look at how tank armor looks, etc).
Look at what the professionals are working on, both in subject matter and in style, in the industry you want to work in (video games, books, etc) and try to work on what they are doing. This is so that your skills are applicable to the industry. I wish I was a videogame concept artist, but that's now what my portfolio or skills say, which is why I'm in book illustration instead. Even my subjects are a bit limited being so military. For you, drawing guns, furries, and the odd bot can only land you so many jobs, so if you expand what you're capable of you become more employable. This diversity also has overlap, being good at one thing will improve your skills elsewhere.

Enjoy the wall-o-text :)

Yeah! I know what you mean. Recently I've really been trying to learn to digitally paint landscapes but I haven't really been that successful yet. Since backgrounds are the kind of area I'm really lacking. I really want to go into animation so knowing cartooning is important too. I do some comics too, but no solid projects yet.

I often find myself just looking around here seeing all of this really amazing art and I think it helps out to see the really good stuff because it gives me some direction and I can take notice on techniques etc in use in these pieces. I also get see where some techniques and styles don't work together.

Its really hard to learn all this stuff on my own, especially the more realistic stuff. Its good practice to keep writing skill up too, since I really want to write comics and animate stuff in movies.

It's in the basic shape, even those lights on the face are like Bri's eyes. I know those four things coming out the back are not "ears" but they are arranged in a way that makes it look like they are.
