Epitome Of Armor - Mecha by Shimmering-Sword Epitome Of Armor - Mecha by Shimmering-Sword
6 straight hours of work for this one, a nice break from all the commissioned stuff.

I assumed I had drawn one of these 4 armed type mecha before, as I reference them as the source of inspiration for Nayora's many armed elemental techniques, but apparently I have not.
The small and large arms do not mirror each others movements (like say, landmates), instead the pilots spend years training their minds to utilize 2 extra limbs. This is best achieved by implementing cybernetics during infancy while motor skills are still being developed. Needless to say these programs have been quite controversial, but have yielded some of the most elite mech pilots to serve in Ranger special operations units.
These unique pilots and their advanced mechs are considerable investments at the base line, so nothing is spared to ensure that nothing but the best tech is made available to these units, maximisung thier effectiveness and durability. Custom bio-synthetic neural mechs, high output shielding systems, assistant AIs, and any weaponry desired.
While Elementals are the masters of precision attack, these spec ops mech units can deliver the same in an urban environment through brute force and can afford to take some hits doing so.

I dont normally Critique this genre of SF, but I saw this one, and I was"struck" by the neat composition, and realistic quality to the piece!
To me, everything about the piece works well ...
Normally, I prefer more armour for this type of Mecha [.... especially AROUND the feet ..!], but, the extra limbs seem to "make up" for the absence of that!
I like [in my opinion ..] .. the "cropped-effect head!" That area "comes across" as very-stylistic!
The scale looks neat, .. and detail is good!
The drawing has great impact, looking at it! Very very clever!

Congratulations, Enjoyed looking at this piece.

Hope to see more!

Hmm this I likes, I immagine that a more complicated weapon that hits with extremely longer range and accuracy would require the use of all four hands and such.

That makes a lot of sense. Why make a mech with just two arms when you it can have four, much more efficient

More effective, but much more complex and requires a unique pilot.

Well you can have two pilots or an AI to help.

the only mechs i really like are the ones featured in Code Geass. a work of art in animation and storytelling, it also have some awesome yet rather sensible mecs. the knightmare frames were not enormous, but big enough to be fast, swift, yet strong and unrelenting.
albeit this design i like.
