Contact - Sub Prep

Here's one of the non-banner illustrations for the Contact: Terror from the Deep book. This expansion featured a lot more shots showing non combat/military scenes which is a nice change, and lucky for me the setting didn't involve a lot of my nemesis, painting cities

Here, a research submarine prepares for a dive along side it's mother ship, the Blue Shimmer (what I did, you see it?).
As with a lot of my work these days, this painting utilizes a 3D base model and some photo manipulation.
