Contact - Barracuda Sub Fighter by Shimmering-Sword Contact - Barracuda Sub Fighter by Shimmering-Sword
I think this is the last piece from the Terror from the Deep book that I'll post. There are a lot of good illustrations in there but I shouldn't post the entire book :D

This is the Barracuda submersible fighter used by Triton. Much like the Omega alien tech fighter this uses an anti-gravity drive as it's main source of propulsion. It's capable of flight in air like a conventional fighter, but is also designed to dive and fighter under water. It's armed with 2 large rail guns, 4 dart rifles mounted in turrets, and torpedos.

It looks good. Smooth, clean, nicely contoured lines. I don't think rail guns would work well under water. (Instantly boiling the water immediately around itself and the resulting shock waves through the water? I'll pass.) But I think it can easily enough be Rule of Cool'd.

It looks like a shark dual wielding machine guns.  I approve.

Cool fighter Shimmy, guess you don't need propellers or jets if you have antigravity drives that operate independent of your surrounding fluid environment. :D But rail-guns underwater?  That sounds like a bad idea, does the craft use its rail-guns only above water and the dart rifles and torpedoes when submerged?

What's wrong with them under water? Everything being relative, when the best we have right now is a slow moving bubble delivery system called a torpedo.
