Artifexes are small magicaly powered contructs, similar in concept to a golem. Runed nodes hold together and manipulate joints. They stand around 4 feet tall and several can combine to create a larger form.
Oh me likie!!! Can I create a 3D model out of it?! I have been working on an uber complex, hair tearing, ass stomping model for the past couple of months and something nice and simple but elegant with an established design might get my creative juices flowing again.
It's a common reversal, but it's true. Any story where magic is reliable and understandable logically will eventually become fairly modern. Lightbulbs replaced by light spells, metallurgy accomplished through ferromancy, mass transit made possible by flight spells, stuff like that. Heck, golems are already basically magical robots.
For some unknown reason, it reminds me of something the forerunners would have made on halo, like maintenance robots. But great idea, the simplicity and smooth edges make them clean and pleasing to the eye. The whitish blue glow only makes it better, gives it a feel of fantasy like magic( by that I mean is, it is an unexplained power that intrigues me).
