Battletech - Sarissa by Shimmering-Sword Battletech - Sarissa by Shimmering-Sword
Another for my list of battletech firsts, my first original mech designed for them.

The Sarrisa's center weapons pod is designed to engage infantry on the ground, or rioters. Now get back in your homes and pay your taxes!

If this is your own design, or you take on an existing design, excellent work. This is how Battletech Mechs should look.

It's an original design of mine, but meant to be inspired / derived from 2 old designs, the names of which I forget. It is an official piece of BT art though, so you could say it is an existing design now :)

I just looked up the stats on this guy and it made me sad. It's such a crappy old mech, but your design is solid. If were ever get to see the Mechwarrior reboot I would totally play around with this guy based on his looks alone. I mean, lets be honest, there are some mech designs out there where I just look at them and say, "what was this guy thinking when he drew this crap?" Just google "urban mech" and you'll know what I'm talking about. I mean is this a mech from battletech or an alien invader from the twilight zone?

But Urbanmech is so classic, it's so bad it's good (some designs are not good no matter how bad though).

Yeah, the Urbanmech is kinda like the retarded little brother of battletech. You kinda can't hate it. But I was browsing on the battletech wiki and found a mech called the Blitzkrieg. With a name like that you'd think it would be bad ass. But, as luck would have it, it's probably one of the dumbest looking mechs I've ever seen. What are these people thinking when they design them? And, who's the person that receives that art from the artist and looks at it and honestly says, "Yeah that's a cool design. We'll take it."?!?!??!!?!

Yeah, that scale for the anti-personnel weapons makes a bit more sense. Anti-personnel weapons on giant robots are rare, so it's nice to see them implemented: I can only think of a handful off the top of my head.

I must say this is by far my favorite mech out of the Technical Readouts I got recently. There is something so clean and functional about it. I would love to see this design done up with some beefier weapons for Mech on Mech action. LOVE the belly turret, really great design overall. Do you take commission work?

The Sarissa is a descent militia mech for the Regulans
Just watch your heat when firing the big laser, you only got 14 sinks.

It's a nice looking mech as well.

I like the pod idea, its kind of a mix with helicopter turrets, fits nicely! Also, guess all your previous works and takes on BT came out on top eh? Great mech! Has a classy Battlemaster feeling... Good job Shimmering!

By far my favourite designs from XTRO Marik!

It fits in well with its contemporary the Icarus and the Mackie.

Wonder when we will get a mini for it.

So, is Battletech or whoever owns the rights to it now, commissioning you to do all these amazing b&w drawings? Or is it your own initiative?
