Ahh, the Mackie....The box with legs that started it all.
Y'know only one TAG is necessary.  This thing would be a monster, 'cept at close range.

2 tags means a higher chance of a hit in game rules. When the Arrows are falling you want to be sure you've got a target lased.

ah yes, the first true BattleMech

but do you find it strange no any factories make them anymore? I mean this Mech is much more cheaper than average modern 'Mechs.

*don't tell me Mackie is a lostech*

No, it's not lostech. It's just so primitive and inefficient that no one bothers with it any more.

Looks great, always thought the Mackie was underrated.

Just one nitpick: your Mackie has 1 Extended Range Small Laser... if so, why does it have TWO guns in the picture? ;)

Interesting take on the ol' beast. Star League refit or post Succession Wars?

the odds of it being a post-Succession Wars copy are highly remote. Not many Mackies were made, and none are believed to be operable or exist in any capacity. Kerensky could barely find 100 examples of the design when he made his call to leave the Inner Sphere. Most Likely this is a Star League variant.

It has an extended range small laser. Assuming IS tech, it can't be any earlier than 3058.

I do know about the history of the Mack.

It's just the inclusion of the ERSL makes it not just unlikely but impossible for it to have existed before 3058. The tech just ain't there.

I'm a bit confused why someone would turn the Mackie of all 'mechs into a dedicated fire support 'mech. But hey, the Inner Sphere is a damn big place.

when you say 'it' do you mean the Mackie in general, or this Mackie in particular?

The Mackie as a mech has its canon; none exist. As for the specific Mackie shown here, I think the person who commissioned the drawing did not really know the history, hence the anachronism.

I'm not sure what era this is based in, though I've done some work for the client all the way into the jihad. Pretty sure it's not Star League though, likely somewhere just pre jihad.

Ah, thank you. Very nice work, either way. I suppose I should have known, since ER lasers other than large ones didn't exist back in that earlier era. ^.^

Mechassault is a game in the Battletech universe. This Mackie mech is the first mech in history. Then there's the urbanmech, which looks like a trashcan with legs, more so than this one :D

I love how the Mech is painted so solid. It feels if i were to reach out and touch it touch the steel would be cold and dense (it that makes any sense)

The design may be ancient, but thanks to the succession wars setting back of technology, and tech upgrades for the Mackie itself, it's still a viable mech.
