Battletech - Locust by Shimmering-Sword Battletech - Locust by Shimmering-Sword
I get bugged a lot to paint up a locust so I whipped this up. Kind of hard to maintain the unseen look when adding hips, but I like my torso twisting :)

Locust, 20 ton light mech, LCT-5T variant.
1 Extended Range Medium Laser
6 Light Machine Guns in 2 Arrays

This is sick, the detail on the cockpit and the pose just looks great.

And when you take into consideration that this is one of the smallest mechs in the lore, and then see how small the cockpit is in comparison, you begin to get a feel for just how massive these things really are...

My god, you actually made the locust look threatening! I didn't think it was possible.

Thanks. What do you think of the MWO version? It's quite a bit more complex than mine.

Finally got to reading my messages!  The MWO Locust is a different kind of beast.  The smaller guns are a bit more realistic, and it's nose mounted turret reminds me of real life attack helicopters.  I prefer your design though,  those rotating machine guns are scary looking.

I have no idea why everyone thinks the locust is ugly.. I love it!!! Great rendition man, and the 6xmg as rotary cannons makes it all the more delightful.

I think it all comes down to when you were born and what shows you grew up on. The new kids only know their Halos. Glad you like it.

I dunno man, I think its also a matter of 'genetic' taste. One does not need to be exposed to something familiar for it to have an effect on their senses, like the locust did to me when I saw it for the first time. I just knew in my gut that I just loved the aesthetic of it, and the name fit it perfectly :) I almost saw it as a coolified ATST in some way, if you can see what I'm seeing :)
