Occasionally hanging out in the Rizon #Battletech channel I take requests for quick BT pieces, usually when I don't have a BT commission on standby to scratch the itch.

This time it's a Hell's Horses Fire Falcon 25ton light mech, prime variant.
Weapons:
1 Medium Pulse Laser
2 Streak SRM-4
2 ER Medium Lasers
2 ER Small Lasers

Don't be too shocked by the design matching it's weapons load :P

It's slender but packs a deadly punch... Reminds me a bit of myself. <.<

Very nice. I prefer this style of mech, the ones without arms. Really digging the texture on the lasers + the untextured missile pods. Also the color scheme... (RoS?) overall, awesome.

One complaint is the blur on the lower legs - I get why you did it but it looks too sudden - and kind of weird, why are only the legs blurred? - not to mention it kinda ruins your nice texture/line work D:

How long did it take you?

Hells horses, if I spent more time a flame job would make it more obvious :)
This was a quick and dirty piece so it's not the best, but I tried out the blur because it's kind of needed to give proper immersion. Focus is on the torso while the legs are moving in the frame, I find without the blurring a fast mech looks too static. Even I struggle with changing my mindset from "losing leg detail" to "they were always going to be blurred". It's the same as choosing to design a whole mech but painting it torn apart from damage.

Never heard of the Hell's Horses - not too into Battletech - so I would've missed it anyways.

I see how the blur is important but it seems like there should be a better solution. Quick and dirty though like you said. Putting the detail in pre-blur is definitely better, though.

Hells Horses are Clan. They are (among the clans) famous for their combined weapons use (Mechs with conventional tanks/vehicles). They have a feud with the ghost bears. In the novels they get only minor attention.
The Mech itself looks great, even though i donīt like the Fire Falcon.

They sound like logical people who would actually win wars.
