Alligator Mech by Shimmering-Sword Alligator Mech by Shimmering-Sword
Sketched this out in an OC session with some peeps.
General ideas practice for mechs, gotta keep the brain loose. (pfft, I'm just having fun)

A mid weight multi-role mech built of decent tech equipment and weapons.
A light auto cannon in a torso turret provides anti personnel / light armor defense.
A rail gun in one arm is it's primary weapon, able to engage a wide variety of targets, land and air.
Then a missile launcher in the other arm can attack indirectly and fire several specialty munitions.

It looks very nice but i must say it reminds very much Metal Gear REX.
Rail gun and missiles, just like it used to have. But still very gool.

I love how you're fanatical about correct gun specs and female armor but totally ignore the cube-squared law. :D Excellent drawing and proportions.

To a degree, but seeing as bipedal mechs are bogus in terms of usability in the first place, we can loosen up on the probability of how load bearing materials will advance.

Indeed.
Quad mechs are generally cooler in my opinion, and more feasible.

A very good all-terrain walker as well too. I would fear this if it were against me and feel confidence if I had this at my side.
Still Love your style of mechs, keep em coming

whatever dude... just simply rocks!!! :D
really, i see what you mean... playing around, trying new forms always gives better pics than something you wanna do 'serious'.. at least for me... ^^;

but however you did it, this is just one awesome mech!!!

Can you try make something in spyder-type mech's? That's not like i don't like humanoid mech's, but i think that more leged machines will look more effective, nor then only 2 leg type bots. Shoot down one of them, and bot is down, nor then spider, which have more of them. Anyway, work is great!

I can agree quad (or more) legged mechs have more stability and can take more leg damage. They just aren't that fast, as the locomotion system itself begins to weigh the design down. I will have some quads meant as more stable weapons platforms though, nice ground holders, I just prefer the mobile look of bipeds.

Oh, yeah, 2 leg mechs really are more faster than any other kind of battle machine... but i always think in this way - Sky: Fast and one shot machines, Ground: small, but deadly powerful rapid fire machines, Sea: BIG all in one dreadnought type machines, that just can't be destroyed. If there is space, than space take sea role. So, in my opinion, i can't imagine 2 legged mechs on ground, when really fast things move on sky.

I'm not mad, but I think that's a pretty far fetched statement. Which will make some others truly explode at you.
Breaking it down, you said "the first thing you saw" was "from metal gear". With it being worded in a literal way, that's saying this is exactly what's in the games, yet by looking at it's details anyone can see that it's not.
Saying "looks inspired by metal gear, which is cool" is probably what you're going for, and is more appropriate.

It looks like it should fit in very well with the Battletech style of mechs, I was wracking my brain to try and figure out if I've seen it before, but I guess its just the right style, familiar but still unique :)

What are those things on top of it? lights? that blind the oppositional by using pinpoint targetting to aim at the other persons cameras/cockpit/etc? or something else lol

Also, the shadow looks nice =D

maybe its intentional, maybe it isnt but this reminds me of the metal gears REX and RAY or a heavily armed GEKKO

perhaps i've been playing MGS4 too much but meh, its still a sweet mech.

Not intentional, nor for mecha would I consider them very similar at all. But I can see that it's easy to compare, 3part legs, a rail gun, blocky torso.
