Rangers Project Facebook:
Hello there loyal watchers!

First off, yep, I've pretty much lurked out of existence for the last few months, there's a solid 430 unanswered comments in my inbox and a bunch of notes. Apologies to those who have been trying to make contact with me, you're not alone there.
Some may already know, but I've been putting almost the entirety of my art efforts into official Battletech freelance work lately, and what little else I have left goes to chipping away at my Protectorate Wars art book. Because of that I've closed down commissions for the time being, including putting on hold anyone that was already in line. I'm not sure when I'll be available again, as my Battletech obligations involve some long term projects.
This also explains the general lack of art posting lately. With most of my work being book or freelance related, I don't have much to post publicly. I'll post what I can when I can.

I moved up to Portland Oregon (finally) a few months ago. I've been enjoying it so far, good weather, nice location, and fast internet :)
Anyone in and around town (I'm in Hillsdale) that wants to hang out, send me a PM maybe. "Industry oriented" art groups seem to be hard to find here, most being focused on traditional mediums and subjects, so I'm on the hunt for art friends that are more down my alley.

I think that covers things. Again, sorry for being so quiet lately.

Hello again everyone, time for some news stuff. I hope you've all had an enjoyable Christmas and are looking forward to the new year.

I recently posted a deviation to announce it, but here I am again to pimp out my Patreon page:…
I'm spending a lot of time working on commissions these days to pay the bills, much more than I needed to before. I'd like to get back to doing more personal work, and Patreon is a great way to do that. If you have a few dollars to spare each month and want to support me, I'd greatly appreciate anyone that can become a patron. If this ever grows large enough I may even be able to stop freelancing all together and work full time on my own projects. Patrons can already find a collection of art from my book that only book backers have seen at this point, and I've started posting fresh content.
To those who can't join, don't worry, most of what I post there will eventually get posted on DA too, just not right away.

Mentoring is a minor note, but on my Patreon there is a pledge option to secure one on one talk time with me. Currently that's only a single one hour session each month, and can be utilized however you want (you could even have me sketch you something in that time). In the off chance that anyone wants to pick my brain or get focused feedback/help on their work for more time than that, just let me know and we can work something out.

Sketch Commissions
Lately I've been doing quite a few large painting commissions, not so many small projects. To help me fill in space between the big stuff, I'd like to offer a bit of a discount on quick sketches, this comes with a few conditions though:
I'll offer these sketch commissions for $25 (instead of $35), but I will be completing them in one shot, this means no revision time or checking of early progress. The only way you'll be able to provide feedback is to watch it happen live on my stream. You will be able to provide as much description and reference ahead of time as you want though.
Basically, if you'd like a quick loose sketch from me and aren't too concerned about exacting results, these come at a great discount. They will also jump through my commission queue at my discretion, you'll just need to pay the $25 once the description is agreed on. (unfortunately I don't have any recent examples of quick sketches, though there are some several years old in my gallery)
If you're interested in these, just send me a note.

A belated welcome to Portland. Don't worry about the Hipsters, they're only dangerous if you make the mistake of feeding them. Your Battletech stuff is just smashing. Getting a Stalker II thanks to them basing one of my old standbys on your work.

Hi, thanks for another Protectorate Wars update. I'm into tabletop games and people might be interested in using the book as a setting bible for Stars Without Number or Traveller (if you're interested in promoting it). :)

That's what it will eventually help with. Some want a game system for the setting but that's a big investment. Instead players can use my book as a reference and pick their favorite rule set to appropriate.
